Since launching our 'Leicester is No Place for Peat' campaign last year, we have been contacting organisations and asking them to go peat-free. We are now ready to reveal our updated list of peat-free places in Leicester and Leicestershire! We have also compiled a list of where to buy peat-free compost locally. For a full list of peat-free compost brands and peat-free nurseries across the UK, check out Dogwooddays’ list. The nearest peat-free nursery is Barnsdale Gardens in Rutland, which only grow using peat-free compost. You can order from them online and plants will arrive in cardboard packaging.
